What Makes Your Piece Truly Special
Thank you for choosing Little Custom House!
Your cushion is completely handmade using traditional textile techniques - either punch needle, fluffy tufting or hand embroidery. This means every piece has its own unique character and soul - just like your little one!
Here's what makes your forever keepsake one-of-a-kind:
Hand-Dyed Perfection
Hand-Dyed Perfection
Each piece from yarn colours to every piece of fabric is hand-dyed in small batches, creating beautiful, subtle variations in tone. Like snowflakes, no two pieces are exactly identical - and that's the beauty of it!
What this means for you:
- Your cushion's colour may have gorgeous tonal depth and character
- Slight variations between batches are normal and desirable
- Screen settings can affect how colours appear online vs. in person
Think of these variations as the fingerprint of your piece - proof it was made by hand, with care!
The Artisan's Touch
Every name is handcrafted, loop by loop (or tuft by tuft!), by skilled artisans. This time intensive process creates the beautiful texture your child will love!
For Punch Needle pieces:
- Soft, plush loops create a refined, velvety texture
- Slight variations in loop height and spacing are completely normal
- Each letter has beautiful dimensional depth
For Tufted pieces:
- Fluffy, shaggy texture with dramatic height
- Variations in tuft density and length are natural
- Bold, tactile finish with gorgeous depth
What both techniques share:
- These "imperfections" are actually proof of authenticity
- No two letters are robotically identical, they have soul!
- Made by human hands, with intention and care.
This is what distinguishes handmade art from mass production!
The Creative Process
Because each design is traced and crafted by hand, you may occasionally notice:
- Very faint chalk or pencil guide marks (these typically fade over time)
- Slight variations in letter placement or size
- Beautiful organic qualities that make your piece unique
These are the marks of the maker, evidence that your cushion was crafted with care, not churned out by a machine!
What This All Means
When you order from Little Custom House, you're choosing:
Authenticity over perfection
Soul over uniformity
Craft over mass production
Quality over quantity
Heritage over automation
Your cushion isn't factory-made. It's a piece of textile art, made just for your child, with love and skill.
A Note on Screens
Soul over uniformity
Craft over mass production
Quality over quantity
Heritage over automation
Your cushion isn't factory-made. It's a piece of textile art, made just for your child, with love and skill.
A Note on Screens
We photograph our products in natural light to show the truest colours possible. However, please note that:
- Every screen displays colours slightly differently
- Brightness settings affect colour perception
- Hand-dyed fabrics have natural tonal variations
We recommend viewing our photos on multiple devices to get the best sense of colour!
Our Returns & Exchange Policy
Because each piece is custom-made with your child's name and handcrafted to order:
We do not accept returns or exchanges for:
- Personal preference on colour (after ordering)
- Natural handmade variations in stitching/tufting
- Slight colour differences due to screen settings
- Faint chalk/pencil marks (part of the process)
- Natural characteristics of hand-dyed linen
- Texture variations inherent to handmade techniques
We DO accept returns for:
- Manufacturing defects (tears, stains, construction issues)
- Incorrect personalisation (we made a mistake!)
- Damage during shipping
If you have any concerns about your order, please contact us within 7 days of delivery. We'll work with you to make it right!
The Bottom Line
The Bottom Line
Your cushion is a forever keepsake, not a disposable decoration.
It was made slowly, carefully, and with love, the way heirloom pieces should be made.
The small variations you might notice? Those are the signature of the artisan's hand. They're what make your piece irreplaceable.
Thank you for valuing craft, supporting artisans, and choosing something made with soul! 🏠
With love,
Mia
